David - A very good choice - or, that is to say, I get a lot out of looking at this site. And a number of your classmates picked this also. As I said to some of them: Frieze, like the Stateside Artforum, presents its considerations of film and video and media - when it does consider these media - in the context of other art making and exhibition practices, usually gallery based. Though, nicely, it is never beholden to any sense of conventional boundaries when it comes to art making, or writing about art.
One thing you might want to look at in the current issue is the article on Mark Tribe and his Port Huron project. Tribe will be on campus in a week or so to talk about that project so you should check him out . It would make for a nice supplement to your journal blog. I will pass on details as I find them.
And check out the guidelines for the next round of blog posting. These guidelines are now on the D2L site and these blogs are due BY October 29. Check then out and get back to me with any questions.
